Nicki Minaj seemingly wasted no time with her response to the Houston rapper.
Megan Thee Stallion returned on Friday (Jan. 26) with her first offering for 2024, and she didn’t hold back on the opposition with her fiery “Hiss” single.
The Houston Hottie has heard all the opinions ripping aspects of her life to shreds from just about everyone over the last couple of years, and she’s had a ton of pent-up frustration to get off her chest.
Megan’s entering a new era as she looks to shed the toxicity moving away from the trauma associated with the 2020 Tory Lanez shooting case, which wrapped up last year with the Canadian crooner heading to prison, as well as her split from Pardison Fontaine.

“I just wanna kick this s–t off by saying, ‘F–k y’all!” Meg sets the tone at the onset of the formidable track. “I ain’t gotta clear my name on a motherf—–g thang. [Every time] I get mentioned, one of y’all b—h a– n—as get 24 hours of attention. I’m finna get this s–t off my chest and lay it to rest, let’s go!”
“Hiss” is the second single set to land on Megan’s third album, and the prickly tune immediately set social media ablaze as fans had plenty to say about Thee Stallion’s latest independently released single, which is co-produced by LilJuMadeDaBeat and Bankroll Got It.
“I’m saying, a hit dog gon’ holler. That’s it. Whoever feel it, feel it,” she told The Breakfast Club about the track on Friday.
Carrying over the same defiant energy from her appearance in the new Mean Girls reboot, Megan Thee Stallion pens her own burn book, and fans think she’s taking shots at Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tory Lanez, Nicki’s husband Kenneth Petty and her ex Pardison.

Drake
Lyric: “These n—-s hate on BBLs and be walkin’ ’round with the same scars/Real curvy, no edgin’, n—-s fight to get in my section/ Don’t speak on my body count if the dick ain’t worth comin’ back for seconds
Cosplay gangsters, fake-ass accents.”Megan and Drake’s feud can be traced back to 2022’s Her Loss sleeper “Circo Loco,” which saw Drizzy rap “This b—h lie ’bout getting shots, but she still a stallion.” While a reference to women lying about getting surgery on its face, some believed the bar to be a double-entendre about Drake thinking Meg could be lying about being shot by Tory Lanez in the midst of the high-profile case.
Lil Yachty attempted to quell the backlash, which didn’t seem to help. Drake didn’t do himself any favors on the It’s All a Blur Tour’s Houston stop when he shouted out a photographer named Meg and not Thee Stallion, which only enflamed the situation with some fans.
“I got to give a shoutout to somebody here who’s been with me since the beginning of my career,” Drake said during the show. “Her name is Megan … Real H-town love. Shoutout to Meg one time for real — not that Meg, this Meg.”
Megan seemingly responds on “Hiss” with allegations possibly jabbing at Drake about his scars being the result of a rumored ab surgery. It wouldn’t be the first time Drake has faced manufactured six-pack claims, which Joe Budden and DJ Carnage have made in the past.
Nicki Minaj
Lyric: “These h–s don’t be mad at Megan, these h–s mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start/ B—h, you a p—y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me.”
Everything was cool between Nicki and Megan when Minaj hopped on “Hot Girl Summer” to heat up 2019. The relationship appeared to get icy when Meg repeatedly worked with Cardi B on tracks such as “WAP” and the more recent “Bongos.”
“I didn’t feel like I had to call [Nicki] first. I mean, ’cause at the end of the day, I’m still an artist and I should be free to work with whoever I wanna work with,” Meg told Chicago’s 107.5 WGCI in 2020 of working with Cardi. “My personal relationship with anybody doesn’t affect what I choose to do as an artist.”
Nicki reportedly proceeded to unfollow Megan Thee Stallion on Instagram, and the two have exchanged subliminal shots in the years since. It all came to a head with “Hiss,” where Meg seemingly lambasted Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty — who is a registered sex offender — while referencing Megan’s Law, which requires the public disclosure of some information about registered sex offenders so that the public may protect itself. The next few lines could be calling Minaj out for never publicly addressing her.
Well, the “Super Bass” rapper didn’t waste any time, hopping on Instagram Live minutes after “Hiss” arrived, and previewed an unreleased track firing back at Megan and referencing Lanez shooting her in the foot.
“Bad b—h she like six foot, I call her Big Foot/ The b—h fell off, I said get up on your good foot,” Nicki raps in the snippet.
Minaj had a chuckle at her slick wordplay and ran back the venomous track a few times before sniping at Meg for her rapping ability during the Live: “You havethree Grammysand you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music.”
She continued to tease Megan while posting a photo of her manicured feet and liking fan tweets dissing the Houston rapper.
All Megan could do was laugh at the storm created by the war of words between herself and Nicki. She ended up quickly posting a response to Minaj with a photo of her hysterically laughing to her Instagram Story.
Kenneth Petty
Lyric: “These h–s don’t be mad at Megan, these h–s mad at Megan’s Law.”
Once upon a time, Petty appeared alongside his wife to star in the “Hot Girl Summer” music video in 2019. Now, he’s seemingly the alleged subject of scrutiny from a Megan Thee Stallion bar. While shrewdly incorporating her name, Megan’s Law references a federal provision giving the public access to information about registered sex offenders.
Petty was convicted in 1995 of attempted rape in the first-degree of a 16-year-old girl, which resulted in him spending four years behind bars. After moving with Minaj to California, Petty was sentenced in 2022 to three years probation and one year of house arrest for failing to register as a sex offender.
Pardison Fontaine
Lyric: “He can’t move on, can’t let it go, he hooked, nose full of that Tina Snow/ And since n—-s need Megan help to make money, b—h, come be my ho.”
Pardi and Megan confirmed dating rumors in February 2021, and after two years together, they split in November 2023.
The Houston Hottie alleges that her ex-boo can’t move on and needs to keep her name in his mouth for him to stay relevant and continue to get checks. On last year’s “Cobra,” she put Pardi on blast for allegedly getting oral sex in the same bed he slept in with Megan.
“Pulled up, caught him cheating/ Gettin’ his d–k sucked in the same spot I’m sleeping,” she claimed.
Shortly after their split, Pardi aired out Megan on “Thee Person” from his Sext8pe EP, which he felt was necessary to clear the air. He then appeared on The Breakfast Club and responded to Meg’s cheating allegations from “Cobra.”
“That one line made people not want to interview me,” Pardi said. “Y’all know me, y’all know me for a long time. I’ve never been a bad person. Never been painted in any type of way, never in the media at all. One, it hurt me personally, and two, it tarnished my image. It tarnished who I was as a person.”
Tory Lanez
Lyric: “Download JPay since y’all n—-s got so much to say/ Or schedule a conjugal visit or something.”
Bringing an end to the three-year legal spiral, Lanez was sentenced to 10 years behind bars on three felony counts in August 2023 over the July 2020 shooting incident, in which he shot Meg’s foot during an argument following a Hollywood Hills pool party.
Instead of addressing Lanez directly, she sidesteps the Canadian crooner and taunts those who still support him and antagonize her even after the singer’s conviction.
JPay is a tech system used by prisons for the transfer of financial resources while a conjugal visit is typically made by the spouse to an inmate.
