Hotel

The Edwardian Manchester is a modern hotel in the historic Free Trade Hall district of Manchester. It features 263 bedrooms and suites, some with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide excellent views of the cityscape. The hotel's stylish modern style mixes comfortable contemporary amenities with luxurious traditional features such as handcrafted furniture and marble bathrooms. It also has a spa spread across an entire floor and a 12-metre subterranean pool.

The staff are so professional and friendly. The spa and gym areas are amazing and are the perfect place to unwind after a long day. I ordered room service during my stay and was easily one of the best meals I've had in a hotel in years. Rooms are also really nice. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Manchester!

A beautiful hotel with absolutely lovely staff. The room was perfect and the view was incredible. Wasn't the easiest to get to with a car but that's not a huge issue. My one niggle is that our check in was at 3, we arrived about 3.30 and were then told we had to wait an hour for our room to be ready with no explanation. It was worth the wait though. Absolutely spotless room with a very comfy bed and lots of space.

Stayed here as my work booked it for a conference I was attending in Manchester. The room was spacious and had everything I needed (including a Nespresso machine). I used the spa facilities after my work meeting and it was so great and relaxing. Location wise it is very central and close to nice restaurants. Their breakfast was good too, a lot of variety. The only thing I wasn’t sure was that they charged my credit card for a deposit (very small fee) but I have never got that back.

Stayed here whilst visiting our daughter at university. Really nice rooms, everything clean and fresh. The staff were very attentive and made sure you were pleased with your stay. Had co*cktails in the hotel bar, quite busy with a nice vibe. co*cktails were lovely , £40 for 3 so not the cheapest option but we enjoyed them before heading across the road to another bar.

As a Premium Raddisson Rewards member, I went over for an early check-in. I was told that if I checked in early I'd only have the standard room, but if I checked in later, I would get the upgrade as per my benefits. The first person I spoke to came across as very helpful and assured me I'd have an upgrade. I agreed to come back and check-in later.I returned later to check in, only to be made to feel stupid for requesting a room upgrade. I was told I was a Club member. This confused me, so I checked the app and show that I'm a Premium member. He then said that unfortunately there are no room upgrades available, despite the first person suggesting that if I checked in later, I'll get the upgrade. I assumed that he assigned the room there and then. I proceeded to complain, saying that I was told I would get the upgrade later. The clerk then said that he'd put be in an upgraded room, but there would be works happening between 11-3 and I said that's not a problem as I'd be at work. However, when I got to the room, it was a regular room. So he lied to my face. Furthermore, when I phoned and asked for a late check out, I was told I could not have it, even though it's listed as a benefit. I then phoned back and asked for a manager, who then gave me an additional hour, which was all I needed. My colleague was giving a late check out right away, and he is not a rewards member.I will not be staying with Radisson again. I have one last booking and that's it. It's the most pointless rewards program I ever entered. I've been lied to and denied a late check, being treated worse than customers without a rewards status.I proceeded to complain to the customer service department about the experience and all I got was responses from three different customer service reps recommending me to request an upgrade, which didn't make any sense and made me feel like my complained was just ignored. Anyway, I won't be making any further bookings there.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Edwardian hotel at the weekend. Every member of staff that we dealt with were so welcoming and polite. We tried to book swimming for the Sunday morning but was all booked up so they changed this to the next available time (11am) and allowed us to check out later. This was really helpful as I only really booked the hotel for the spa/swimming facilities. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel’s restaurants/bars but they looked so nice. The breakfast was great too! The location was perfect and in walking distance to everywhere we wanted to be! Will definitely stay again when visiting Manchester! Thank you :)

Had the most amazing stay possible! Mine and my partners first time visiting and we couldn't have been happier. We were mainly seen by the staff member Alicia who went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible by accommodating special requests, offering recommendations and being so friendly and pleasant! The room was perfect, everything sanitized and placed in plastic wrapping. Lovely and spacious with a very comfortable bed. The shower and bathroom facilities were great. The breakfast was delicious and all the staff were very friendly and happy to help in anyway.Location is perfect as it is right in the centre so everything is walking distance.Couldn't recommend enough and we are especially grateful to Alicia for making our stay that much more enjoyable and welcoming!

I stopped here last year for my wedding night but me and my wife were too tired and busy the following day to take the hotel in. We decided to stop here again for our 1st wedding anniversary and really had chance to take the whole experience this time. It’s a great stay, with every amenity you could possibly want (breakfast is pretty stellar) with the highlight being the pool/gym/spa. Rooms were spotless and ours had a spectacular view of Manchester City centre.

I really liked this hotel. However stars dropped for a couple of reasons. I do believe that these are very easily amendable and that had there been a little control over the facilities we would be rating 5*s.The spa facility is ridiculously busy, considering that I called from my room and booked a slot to use at 7-8, the final hour of the day (which isn’t ideal as it is) and when we went down there the pool was swarmed with people, all over, the same middle aged men who were all too comfortable in the jacuzzi and refused to get out, and the same for the steam room and sauna. I was really disappointed by this because there should really be a limit on how many people should be allowed in there and especially a limit on time spent at once. The only facility that was left quiet to use is the gym and who wants to use the gym on a spa getaway? No issues with the receptionist there who didn’t have any control over the individuals there so can’t blame that, can only recommend a better policy for future usage. My final complaint is that upon checking out, the man at the desk was quite arrogant and rude as he wrongly stated that I needed to pay for my stay and then proceeded to correct me for saying I’d already paid. This sort of behaviour is unacceptable from reception staff and quite possibly a whole experience burner, whereas the staff who checked me in were a delight.Unfortunately I won’t want to stay here again, the hotel is excellent but the facilities are now overused and its natural to be like this since the reputation is good. But I strongly advise a better solution for spa facilities usage and definitely would recommend longer opening times for the spa.

This was just the ideal choice of hotels to visit Manchester City centre. The decor was beautiful, the restaurant/bar was lovely with a good selection of drinks. The room was also lovely with some nice touches to show they think of their guests. The gym and sauna/pool was of very good standard, I loved it here. Honorable mentions to Danny at the desk and Salim in the restaurant at breakfast but all the staff were just lovely. Would love to come back here again.

It’s me and my partners first time staying here and it was perfect in every way possible! The bedroom was immaculate and couldn’t have asked for any better. The receptionist was very polite and welcoming! She understood all our needs and was more than happy to help with any requests. The security guard was also friendly and welcoming and so was the man who took our luggage. As we ordered drinks at the bar both the bartender and manager gave us some recommendations for drinks and they were fantastic! Both chatty, friendly and welcoming too! Jessica who I spoke to on the phone for the booking was absolutely lovely and very helpful! We couldn’t have asked for any better and will definitely be returning in the future, so many many thanks from the both of us !!

Me and my family had 3 suites on the fifth floor and they were lovely and spacious everything you need in a room.I have rated 4 stars as the music at night was very loud from Christmas party and the bass was extreme it does stop at 12.30am but with two kids waking early not ideal.I just want to give a massive thank you to Gary the concierge who was very attentive and helped with all our needs. He booked our swimming for the children (as there is certain times children are allowed in the pool) managed to sort the children’s breakfast out (when reception told us they weren’t having any breakfast!) and just a nice friendly attentive manner which is very much appreciated. Thank you so much Gary :)Would certainly recommend but maybe not during party season if you’re not part of the party! X

Very nice old hotel but room have been renovated and good Spa and pool( very crowded). The staff were friendly especially the reception Mr. Kyaw who gave us such warm welcome. The hotel located in walking distance to any tourist spot we wanted to go. Room were spacious and well facilitated. Just great base in the city.

Wonderful location. Excellent service. Very clean.Bathroom. Loads of hot water. Decent shower.Strange set up where the loo, bath and shower are in one room and sink etc is open plan next to the bedroom. Not best privacy but from an infection prevention control point, you have to handle lots of things before you can wash your hands. Odd.

Stayed here twice recently. Very impressive. Staff are very nice and the amenities are nice, including the pool, hot tub etc. A bonus was meeting some pro boxers (Khan and Crawford) yesterday. Very convenient location. If you're hungry, try the nachos bar snack in Peter Street Kitchen. Very nice. Also - parking - I HIGHLY recommend Q Park on First Street. A 5/6 minute walk and can be purchased for £11 a day.

I have stayed in numerous hotels in Manchester however this is has got to be the best one I have stayed at so far! I recently stayed here for my friends birthday, the Guest Relations Manager was super accommodating and helped me setup my room for my friends birthday. She even kindly left a birthday card and small cake for my friend, thank you Viktorija. Exceptional 5 star service from all staff right from checking in right up until checking out and leaving the hotel. This was definitely a 5 star experience for myself and the welcome received from all staff was amazing. We had a small issue where our heating in the room was not working however the hotel accommodated promptly with a portable heater. Spa was also so beautiful and the overall look of the hotel is so aesthetically pleasing! 100% recommend this hotel, I don’t think I will book anywhere else now, it’s going to be my go to 5 star hotel. Can’t wait to be back! Thank you to all staff at The Edwardian this hotel is beautiful!!!!

Great location, and facilities, however I thought the hospitality/ service could be more outstanding, considering the price of the stay.During check-in and check-out, nobody really offered or insisted to take our baggage for us (we were 2 people with 5 baggages, in Asia, people would just rush to help sort us out). When we were checking out, it was the two of us trying to wheel our bags out on the big trolley and struggling a bit, but there was couple of staff at the concierge just chatting and not offering to help nor open the doors for us.In the room, I called to ask for cutlery to be sent to the room - I had to call Room Service, Reception and another line before I was finally able to get connected to the kitchen. The lady on the line told me it would cost £5 to get a fork sent to the room, which is shocking. I've stayed at everything from the Four Seasons to the Premier Inn, and neither of these would charge to have cutlery brought to the room. There was also a few occasions after the check in where we needed our key cards updated, somehow that always take forever. I remember the check in took longer than I had patience for after a long haul flight. There was also one elevator that just wouldn't register the key card for 2 days of our stay. Key card tech maybe something to look at.Apart from these annoyances, I really loved the amenities, specially the gym/ pool/ spa. It was the only amenity that made this stay outstanding for me.

The positives for me. On arrival I was treated well by Victoria. She was very helpful sorting out my accommodation & assisting me Staff where pleasant & hard working. The room was very comfortable but not of 5 star standard. The hairdryer was very difficult to find,Unusually for a five star hotel there is a quiet restaurant which you didn't have. The music was far too loud, & several people asked for it to be reduced. It wasn't.On a serious note, I suggest that the volume that it was played at is checked, as people will definitely suffer with hearing loss.Tea was served at function with a tea bag in the cup. Not 5 star. When I asked for a tray at breakfast, I was told because of health & safety that they could not be given to guests. Very strange, because I could walk into Asda & one is supplied. All dishes at breakfast were warm, & I needed to ask 3 people for a cold dish for my fruit. These are problems that can ,& must be solved if you wish to attain consistently a high standard to be able to charge for five star hotel. One final thing. An alarm went off that must have woken the entire hotel at 5.45amI have been honest in the hope that you will improve to help future guests. The problems are a very easy fix, even if this means employing extra staff.Despite Everton I did enjoy my stay.

Had a pleasant time at the Edwardian last Friday. The SPA facilities were very nice, the staff were extremely friendly. The room was as good as a 4* hotel, nothing special. The iron board was broken and the hair fan heated up extremely quickly and had a bad smell after. Otherwise - a good hotel with an excellent location.

Great hotel 2nd time staying here! Room service was quick and still hot and cold respectively! Clean rooms and large only down was my room was right next to the lift basically shared the same hallway as it so could hear it all the time. Also having a virtual concierge was really helpful with ordering food

My partner and I have stayed twice at the Edwardian. The hotel absolutely lives up to the 5 star rating. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fabulous and worth paying the additional money for. The spa facilities are wonderful and incredibly relaxing and the gym is well equipped by hotel standards. I would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back for our third visit in the New Year.

Perfect location in central Manchester. The spa was not as big as I thought it would be but it wasn't overly crowded due to the booking system.Rooms were decorated and furnished as nicely expected from a 5-star hotel and the bed was very comfy.Definitely recommend.

We are very happy with our stay. Perfectly located close to both shopping, nightlife and restaurants. We had a suite witch was of a good size. Room service, and hotel employees were very polite.Spa, pool and gym was very good both in size and equipment.

This is the second time here!We stayed here as a couple. On arrival, super polite receptionist greeted us and he upgraded us for our anniversary!Beautiful room with a great view and lovely to see the sun rise in the morning too!The leisure facilities are phenomenal - make sure you book to avoid disappointment though! The hotel overall was so luxury and lovely, great location and matched facilities too - can’t wait to stay again!

Nice hotel. Very modern but classy. Loved the pool and gym. The man that checked us in took a long time not sure if he was new.Little bit let down by the room, because we dont think it had been checked before we arrived. There was a drinks stain on the table, and a dry stain on the carpet that looked like feaces.Breakfast had a good selection of things to choose from including hot and cold food.

My second stay here in 5 weeks. A few of the staff remembered me, which gave a smile. The spa facilities are excellent. I found it very worthwhile to get up before 7 to use the pool at a quiet time.Great location, great facilities, superb food.I am exceptionally grateful to the staff for their excellent service and warm welcome. I've been experiencing the most challenging and lonely time of my life recently and the staff at the Edwardian helped ease the pain by making me feel at home.- Lily

I stayed a The Edwardian for one night, and I will definitely be returning. The service was exceptional. The room was 5 star quality. I used both the gym and swimming pool facilities, which I enjoyed, very private and quiet. Overall stay was lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The hotel is centrally located. They do not have parking and you’ll have to park at the NCP parking which is a 5 min walk from the hotel.

Hotel was okay, but rooms in other raddison hotels are normally nicer. I had an issue with my room, but the hotel staff didn’t help to resolve it. Location is great for central Manchester. Breakfast is nice, but the room is a bit cramped. I would probably choose a different hotel next time.

Toby — Google review

This hotel is racist towards black women especially, was made to feel very uncomfortable using the spa facilities by staff and guests, rushed to finish up and area isn't convenient for transport. The service was okay but could've been better and food offered should have better options. The discriminatory behaviour needs to be addressed, would not recommend at all.

Couldn't fault my stay even if I wanted to be picky!Booked myself a night for my birthday so that I could tale myself out for dinner in town, splash about in the spa, and wake up in a gorgeous place. It over-delivered! From the stunning foyer and warm, efficient welcome at check-in to the surprise 'Happy Birthday' gateau that was waiting for me in my gorgeous room, I was thrilled from the very first moment.I trundled down to the spa and floated about in blissful surroundings under soothing lighting. The pool in the Goldilocks of hotel pools - not too big but not too small. Loved the steam room and sauna too. Comfy beds/sofas to lollop around on. Fresh water on tap. So pleasant I did it all again the next morning. After check out, I loitered in the foyer area to catch-up on some work emails and chat to a friend. Relaxed, comfortable, delightful.Highly-recommend, Can't imagine a better spot. For relaxed food and drink, wander over to Society for options on all fronts. Ezra & Gil over the road is a smashing spot for brekkie/brunch/lunch.

The Edwardian is somewhere I’ve wanted to stay for a while and it was a great experience. The rooms are lovely and well furnished, with the coffee machine Nespresso being a welcomed addition. Also the walk in shower was great, along with the automatic blinds. As for the rest of the hotel, the lobby and the spa are brilliant, with the gym being top also. The only complaints I would have is that our rooms AC never really got that cold, so there were times that the room was quite warm, but not unpleasant. Also the pool area got super busy despite the hotel requiring hourly slots from the attendees. This meant we could never really relax as much as we wanted to unfortunately. People were overstaying their hours times and leaving towels on beds whilst leaving to go elsewhere, so there was a bit of a queue of people loitering about inside the pool waiting for beds to become available and it all felt a bit rushed unfortunately.Otherwise, brilliant stay at a lovely hotel, and the staff were great.

Stayed for just a night. Wish I could have stayed longer! I had a long day and arrived to very helpful and enthusiastic team in concierge. Mike was extremely helpful and answered all my questions satisfactorily. The pool is lovely and managed well to avoid overcrowding. The gym is one the best I have seen in a hotel with ability to have some privacy if you want with separate rooms for core work and weight training as well as machine work. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it! It’s right next to everything. So even though it was raining I was a short walk from great places to eat and fun activities.

We’ve just checked in this evening, place seems nice enough and in a good location. But we just asked for some fresh milk for our room (not the usual UHT nonsense) and we were presented with a bill for £5.50, for one small cup of milk! In what world are they living that they think it’s normal to charge that! In every hotel I’ve stayed in it’s offered complimentary, not to mention the fact this place is supposed to be 5 star!
